Statement of Faith
Personal Profile
God - there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit. God is the creator of everything in the universe.

Jesus - We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension to heaven, His present ministry of intercession for believers, and His return to earth in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit - We believe in the person and deity of the Holy Spirit. He performs the miracle of new birth in unbelievers, indwells and bestows gifts to every believer, and empowers people to live godly lives.

The Bible - We believe the Bible is God's written revelation to man, and it is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts.

Man - God created man and woman. Man and woman were alienated from God due to the free choice to sin against God thus bringing sin into the human race. Through God's grace through faith in Christ alone for salvation (made possible by his death and resurrection) one is reconciled with God. All people were created to exist eternally and will spend eternity either in the presence of God in Heaven or without His presence in Hell.

Salvation - Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
-
Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God's grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace. Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Saviour.
-
Justification is God's gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer unto a relationship of peace and favor with God.
-
Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart to God's purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerated person's life.
-
Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.

Baptism and Lord's Supper -Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus. The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby believers memorialize the death of Christ and anticipate His second coming. You do not have to be a member of New Hope Baptist Church to partake in the Lord's Supper, but you are asked to only partake if you align with the Christian belief of what the Lord's Supper means and what it means to be a true believer in Christ.
